At the Hukanui Marae
After our visit to the marae, the children shared their ideas about the most interesting things they had seen -
Rohan noticed that the carving of the wharenui had lines around the mouth of the top head - it gave it more expression on the face.
Andrew liked the picture of the old maori chief.
Daniel thought the Maori queen looked old.
Nia noticed that the walls in the whare nui were made out of woven flax panels
Wynter had been looking carefully because she noticed that our waharoa is different to their waharoa.
Paula thought the whanau photos in the whare nui were interesting.
Vanessa liked the carvings on the whare nui.
