The Cheetah

The cheetah is fast. 
The cheetah has spots. 
Cheetah can hide under the grass. 
Sometimes we can't see the cheetah because some cheetah hide under the grass. 
We saw the cheetah in the zoo. 
Cheetah can run fast. Cheetah can jump high. 
I like cheetah because they can run fast.

Animals and Habitats

At the zoo we saw a peacock.
The peacock was walking around the zoo. 
It had beautiful patterns on the feathers .
The feathers were colourful, like a rainbow.
The peacock had a pointy beak. 
The peacock lives in the rain forest.

'The Fairest Of Them All ' - a show about being cyber safe.

On Thursday the school saw a show. I was there too,  at the show . 
There was three actors who were acting out 'The Fairest of them All'. 
They made a another  version of the 'The Fairest of them All'. 
There ware a big poster behind them. 
There was an internet troll in this one. 
It was exciting !

Weather

There are lots of different kinds of weather - stormy,  sunny, snowy, rainy, foggy, cloudy, wet, cold, warm, hot, fine, windy, hail, thunder, lightning, rainbows 
Winter is cold and rainy.
Spring is a bit cloudy and warm. 
Summer is warm...but it is fresh.
Autumn is cold and rainy.

Spider Monkeys

The spider monkey was leaping from rope to rope. 
One minute later the zookeeper fed them fruit. 
After they finished they started playing again.
 I also saw one sliding down a long rope. 
It was amazing.

Today we went on our trip to the zoo.
We had a great time looking at the animals and their habitats.

We had a picnic lunch together down by the wet lands. We really enjoyed ourselves as there was so much to see.

Today we sat on the hill to sketch the Kowhai tree. The Kowhai flowers were yellow. They were very beautiful. It was hard to sketch them because they are small.

My New School

The first day at school. 
Today I woke up . I got ready and walked to school. At school I walked into class. 
I hung up my coat and hat. I played and worked. I ate a snack and lunch. 
At recess I played at the park. Then I went in when the bell rings. 
Now it 's home time. My mom and dad come to pick me up. 
I like the school !

Playing Handball

I can play hand ball. I play hand ball on the courts with the big kids.  
There are 6 squares. There are 6 players.

The Ambulance

Today we saw an ambulance. 
There was an  officer called Daniel.
We were the para medics. I liked being the para medic. 
Daniel showed us a picture. The picture was the ambulance. The ambulance had stripes.
We went in the ambulance. Our teacher was in the ambulance. 
There was a bed on the ambulance. The bed had wheels. The bed was soft. The wheels were like an aeroplane.  
The ambulance was cool. There were lights on the ambulance. The ambulance had a siren on the top of the ambulance. 
Daniel had some interesting things. There was special equipment for Daniel.

Our Operetta Item for 2016 - "What did the Moa say?"

The Operetta

I like the Operetta because we wear masks and we do the show. 
I am on the new stage.
I was nervous. 
There were lots of Kindy kids.
The moa was big.

Our Operetta 'Turangawaewae' is awesome!

We had our dress rehearsal today - we are really excited about the shows next week - here we are in our costumes - without our masks.

Our Cross Country was on Putikitiki

We trained for the Cross Country on Dawson.

Scientists are important because they are making robots. Robots help each other.

Daffodil Day on Friday

We supported Daffodil Day - some of us brought a gold coin and some of us wore yellow.
We raised $20.00, well done, Room 4.

Drains Are For Rain

In the sandpit there is a drain. 
Drains are for rain. 
Do not put sand in the drain. 
In the drain there is a hole for rain. 
The sand blocks the hole.

Our visit by the Firemen for our Fire Wise inquiry

On Tuesday Fireman Paul came to help us learn more about being Fire Wise.

We know that matches and lighters are tools for adults - if we find them we give them to an adult to put in a safe place.

We  learned that if a fire starts we have to 'Get out, fast!'

Fires get very big, very fast - 

When fires are big the smoke is very hot and fills the room - that is why we get down, get low and get out . . .
and go to our safe meeting place - 
our safe meeting place is by the letter box.

At The Farm

In the weekend, I went to the farm. I had to wear my gumboots. Calves sucked my hand. It felt tickly.

Waiata Pipi

Today we went to waiata pipi in the hall.

Butterfly

The butterfly hatched out of the chrysalis. First it was a caterpillar. It was on a leaf. The caterpillar was turning into a 'j'.  Then it was a butterfly. It had stripes on it. The plant was in a pot. Every one wanted to look at it. 
We also were writing about it too. It was amazing. l liked writing about it because it was fun. I liked the butterfly because it was drying its wings. It was orange. It was black too. l saw it with Natalia. There were lots of caterpillars. I liked seeing the butterfly.

Writing Time

We are writing. We are writing about the things we did on the holidays.

The Turtle

A turtle came in the class room. 
The turtle felt slimy 
The shell was hard. 

The Staircase

The staircase was very colourful because it had colours on it. My favourite colour was blue.

Soup

We had soup. It was tasty. They had to cook it in a pot. I was eating and talking with my friends. We had bread. I like the bread because it is delicious. We were sitting down on the deck. It was next to Room1 and Room 2. They were working hard on the soup. I like the vege soup because it tasted like veges. It had onions in it.

Everybody liked the soup. There was pumpkin soup too but I had vege soup with onions. 
It was in a cup. The bread was small. It was for Matariki.

Ben's turtle was slimy and it's turtle food was stinky.

Yummy Soup

My favourite soup is the pumpkin. I like the bread too. I think it was yummy. I really wanted the vege soup. The vege is very yummy.

I Liked The Green Guy (from the Te Rēhia Theatre show)

Yesterday I liked the character with the green mask. He looked creepy. He was the bad guy. He was stealing the cake. It was his birthday. They were running around. The cake dropped on the ground. He got sad. They were nice to him. They were being silly around the hall. They were wearing masks. It was Tuesday when we saw them.

We went on the Hamilton East school bus.  We saw Greenslade House first. Wellington St beach was near Greenslade House.

Working With Erin

Yesterday we were training with Erin. We were getting fit.

Our Icon Trip

On the bus trip, we were looking at the special places in Hamilton. 
The whole class went on the bus trip even though it was raining.
We went with Room One. 
We saw the patterns on Riff Raff and the other statues. 
It was awesome on the bus. We saw the farming family. It has lots of carvings on it. 
I liked Greenslade house.
We were tired on the bus. It was a great day .

The Leaves Came Down

We threw the leaves.
It was cool.

On the Icon trip

On the bus we looked at some special places in Hamilton.
It was amazing on the bus.
We saw 3 statues. They were all on the street.
We couldn't really see out of the window of the bus 
The bus ride was long. I was getting a headache on the bus.
Our whole class went with Room One. 
Room One were really loud on the bus.
The people that were away didn't come on the trip.
I liked Riff Raff, the statue, because it was carved by someone I think is famous.

The Icon Trip was awesome!

The bus ride was fun even though it had been raining.

First we saw Greenslade House - it was like a castle.

Then we saw the Wellington Street beach.

Everyone said "WOW" when they saw the cloak at the Hamilton Gardens.

It was big and it had lots of patterns.
Then we went to see the Rotunda but it was hard to see through the windows.
We saw three statues - the Anzac memorial, Riff Raff and the Farming Family. 
The Riff Raff statue was amazing.
We even went over the Fairfield bridge.
The bumpy bridge was fantastic because it was different. 
We went over 5 bridges altogether.

When we got back to school, we sat in the sun and drew our favourite place in Hamilton.
What a great day!
