The Strike Percussion workshop

We went down to the hall.
It was fun because we played on the drums.
it was very, very loud.
James put is hands up and down to show us that we have to go loud and soft.
We played on the drums with the drumsticks.
We made a pattern with drumsticks.
Room 3 was down there too.

Matariki Celebration

To celebrate Matariki we made kete - the children learned how to do basic weaving and were able to complete a simple kete using paper and paper strips.
They showed engagement, focus, resilience and perseverance in completing this activity -
I was really proud of them . .  . and they were very proud of their creations.

Visiting 'Bush Land'

We have a lovely new area that has been developed - the bush area between Room 14 and the hall. It is a bank area and is currently growing trees, flax and ground ferns. We went to visit and enjoyed this space.Totara Team has used logs to show us the pathways and to protect small plants that are growing there. We called this new space 'Bush Land'.

Artists in the Hall

We loved visiting the hall to see the artists and their work.
We were surprised to see some of our teachers there and our learning assistants.
They were artists as well as being teachers.
